Intermediate Masterclass Chair
Application Requirements: All applicants must create a video recording, upload it to YouTube, and submit the YouTube link. The cost is free. Please refer to Jane Magrath’s “The Pianist’s Guide to the Standard Teaching and Performance Literature” if you are unsure if a piece is an intermediate level. The length should be 3–7 minutes and the deadline is October 1, 2019 at 11:59 p.m.
Please make a video and upload it to YouTube. Make the setting public or unlisted, not private. Name the video as follows: Name, UMTA Intermediate Masterclass Application (“Jane Doe, UMTA Intermediate Masterclass Application”). The video must show the performer’s hands, feet, and head. Submit the video link to Cody Miller, firstname.lastname@example.org with the email subject being the same as the video name (“Jane Doe, UMTA Intermediate Masterclass Application”). Include the name of the piece played in the text of the email. You will receive a reply confirming that the video link works and that it was received.
All applicants will be notified in mid-October about results. Winners must ensure they can attend the masterclass on time. If not, another pianist will be selected in their place prior to the conference.
